The dog may be diabetic?
I know a sign of diabetes in humans in dry mouth and excessive drinking lots of water and my dog has been doing recently. She has one day a bowl of nice size and it takes about 1 1 / 2 (not counting the filling and throw w / Freshwater) but now Im the recharge at least 4 times a day. It is a German Shepherd aged 13yrs his birthday is coming up (Dec. )…… 5th just thought I'd throw that there:)
First – happy early birthday to your dog! 
Second – Dogs can and do get diabetes. You must have your Vet test to confirm though. Third Quarter – excessive consumption of alcohol may be a symptom of a multitude of problems such as problems kidney, Cushings Disease, hyperthyroidism, etc. Take your dog to the vet to get thoroughly checked first before you panic. Once you have a diagnosis of your veterinarian, you must also give your dog supplements herbal as well.
