Alcoholism Diabetes

Diabetes? What are the symptoms of type 2? + Alcoholism?
In a word, I think I may type 2 diabetes. I know that the symptoms include frequent urination, thirst, fatigue and often, but I have been lately: dizziness to the point of almost passing out. I am an alcoholic, which is bad everywhere, I know. But I usually have very good eating habits. I eat complete meals every time I eat, to be sure of having the recommended amount of fruits and vegetables and whole grains, etc. I also heard that excercise helps control Type 2 diabetes, and I excercise 2-4 times a week rather intense. I suppose it would be my question is: I am not sure if the symptoms I'm experiencing are due to consumption, or diabetes. Is there a way to distinguish between the two, apart from obtaining a blood glucose test? I do not really have the money to see a doc right now, and I do almost everything else right except for drinking, so I am trying to find a way to distinguish between two.
parkermb is right … You sound like you want to avoid MD. Need fasting blood tests … get a blood test track … ask for panel and liver function impairment. Diabetics are also sometimes depressed mood. As for your drinking problem as it Sounds you know, but want to minimize a problem if you do not need to stop … Drinking will diabetes and kidney worse. The only way to distinguish between the 2 without going to the MD is to stop for a drink and see if symptoms disappear. But I feel that this is not an option for you. If I may: Call the AA Intergroup or in your area and go in a group … if you do not like 1 group try another. Another option is to enter into therapy with a social worker or psychologist to talk about what keeps you drinkng. I really wish you the best.
